Good Old Fish

I hooked this fish right after the stressed out kitty, and again, I wasn't overthinking, but just going with it..ahh, found my groove again...nice feeling.

 I really like how the colours came together for this piece..I was thinking less and just doing, and that works out much better.

Just finished this little fishy yesterday. I had a bit of trouble with it as I was second guessing almost every colour I choose...BUT happy with it in the end. Stop thinking Laura..just do it!

Titanica

I received in the mail last week from NSDCC information regarding the 2012 exhibition. Members are to create work that refers to the liner Titanic, and/or to create works that refer to any of the meanings of the word "titanic" i.e.of or like the Titans, gigantic or made of titanium.

So last week I took our son for a healthy snack (?) at Tim Horton's, and I had remembered seeing something on the Maritime Museum website. They have in their collection a pair of shoes from a two year old boy who was in the Titanic disaster.  So, I want to make a rug with the shoes and flowers coming out from them.. ..I guess it wasn't women and children first.

Fishapple Tree

Just finished this rug! I was initially thinking of hooking a fish tree, but it looked rather bare so needed to add some apples to zip it up a bit. ...but may still do a fish tree. Yes!, fish is very much on my brain...stay tuned for "Lady Walking Fish".

Fish Dress SOLD

Possible titles for this rug are, "There is something fishy about this dress" or "Honey, do I look like a fish in this dress"...why no herring.oops, I mean honey, you look great!

Or another title for this one could be "THE FISH ATE MY BABY!" tee hee. This one was a little different for me as I don't usually do purple skies, but happy with the way it turned out.

I just finished this one, on this chilly January morning. Hmmm, just looking at it now..think I will change the colour of her shoes to red..yes! red...to match her hair..and the dead fish.

Women in Black

I have been hooking a lot of woman wearing black lately..not sure why..just seems to work. I drew a woman with a dead fish on her lap, as well as a woman pushing a fish in a baby stroller. ..I think I will put them in black dresses as well. The imagination is a wonderful thing!...and so are black dresses.
