Let Me Wear Black

Yes, someone just bought "Let Me Wear Black" last night and the interesting thing is the women lives on the same street as the woman in the rug, the one who lost her husband. I hope she sees this one day..maybe not soon, but someday.

Let Me Wear Black

This was a toughie to make. A very kind young man in our community died suddenly about two months ago leaving behind a wife and two small girls. I was directed to his wife's blog by a friend and in it she said she just wanted to wear black so people would know she doesn't quite fit in now. The money from this rug will go to her husbands memorial fund.

Kitty for Sale

This is the purrfect kitty. It doesn't scratch or meow to go out in the middle of the night. It doesn't try to trip you at the top of the stairs...AND it will love you unconditionally.

A nun and two cats.

When our family was in Quebec City this summer, I went to the Musee national des beaux-arts du Quebec. I am afraid I don't recall the name of the painter, but he had painted a lovely painting of nuns and well, it got me thinking I would like to try to create a nun...so here I go!

Lady in Black...in a sea of blood

Ha! This lady started off as a ballerina in a pink tutu. I guess I wasn't in the mood for a ballerina in a pink tutu.

Calico Kitty

Just finished this wee kitty..she looks a little angry.

Mr. and Mrs. Purdy

This very fine gentleman sharpens my hooking scissors and keeps my cutter in good working order. He also makes very lovely hooks which he supplies to the Rug Hooking shops through out the province...and at the top we have Mrs. Purdy with her lovely inch mat. I love these people!

This was my second year with the Festival..and to be honest, I am not too sure this is the show for me. But I am glad I gave it a try and now I need to focus on the NSDCC show which is just 5 weeks away!!! Run around in circles and panic!! Ha! My scissors and cutter are "in the shop" so I hope I can get hooking again full steam on Monday. Ciao.

I"d Rather be Reading Than Ironing

Wow, this rug  was like riding a rollercoaster. I worked on the basket, book and iron today...and holy smokes, I was ready to pull my hair out. However, the lovely lady and background were a pleasure to hook. In the end, super happy with how it turned out.

A friend may purchase this..just waiting to hear. She liked the sketch and hope she likes the final creation.
