It is a very white day in Truro..and it could use some colour!

This little rug started off as 'Bird in the Snow' but all that white was making me cranky and had to add some colour so it became 'Foggy in the Fall'.... thanks to my Mothers' quick thinking...thanks Mom.

I am suppose to be baking and shopping for Christmas...BUT I WANT TO HOOK! I just finished this little ballerina..Christmas is a whole 8 days away..plenty of time.

Fifty Shades of Grey-The Rug SOLD

This was very strange for me, this rug. I wanted to hook a winter tree and I don't use much white in my work but I used my braveness and went for it! I added a little colour to the tree, a bit of yellow and red sari because it was driving me nuts as it was so bleak. As I was hooking the sky, I thought wow!, this is a lot of grey..like fifty shades at least. Ha!

I just finished hooking big bird. I like it!..and I don't know how the lady in the rug feels about it. She is worried this big bird may have eaten her kitty, Fluffy.

Just finished this little kitty. Originally he didn't have a tail and my daughter said, "It looks like a fish head- down into a box". ..so I added a tail. Glad I have a very honest ..and sweet..critic living with me.

Rug Hooking Magazine

Hetty van Gurp, former co-owner of Moose River Rug Hooking Studio, came to interview me today for an article which will appear in the September issue of Rug Hooking Magazine. We had a great talk about Folk Art and Rug Hooking, it was really such a pleasure to talk to Hetty!
